Title: Gun Questions and Front End Selection.
Post by: Bonesaw Ownage on April 06, 2009, 02:45:14 pm
Hello,

I am a new user building a 4-player Mame Cabinet from a Tekken 3 Podium Cab using the original monitor. I just finished the custom control panel( pics coming soon) with all the goodies from Groovy Game Gear - Thanks Randy!, and now I'm in search of guns to add to the system.

I have researched the LCD topguns, and I like them, but I wanted to know what the options there are, because I would really like to use the Happ Guns, or similar oem guns. Another thing I was wondering is do the big buck hunter, and the house of the dead games run on mame? If not what are my best options for running them with one of the front ends?

Also, I am looking for the most suitable front end to use. I have looked into Maximus, hyperspin, and mala.

Which one makes it the easiest, after setup, for people to just select between emulators and games to play? I understand that setting them up takes a little bit of time, but I want to be able to play the most games and have the simplest interface with nice looking graphics.

Thanks in Advance!! I look forward to hearing your input.

Best Regards,

Jonathon

HOTD1 is not working in mame, but there is a Model 2 HLE based emulator it works with: http://nebula.emulatronia.com/
HOTD2 was Naomi (Dreamcast) based and there's NullDC that can run both Dreamcast and Naomi games fairly well.
HOTD3 is Chihiro (Xbox) based, to my knowledge there's no such emulator, though you could still likely find a real Xbox to run it and it includes an Xbox port of HOTD2 as an unlockable.
HOTD4, of course, not happening anytime soon.

Theres HOTD2 and HOTD3 for the PC. They needs launchers but you can get them to run on a cabinet. Hyperspin runs mine
