Here's a Playchoice 10 cab -

I've tried looking across the net for some info on it but haven't found anything... can anyone give me some info about it. All I know is that it has Tennis, Super Mario Brothers 3, Golf, Rad Racer, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Pin Bot, Teenage Mutant NinjaTurtles and Fester's Quest inside and that it is a European cabinet (UK) - other than that I couldn't find anything out about it!
It needs restoration (look at the control panel!) and I want to know whether anyone knows whether there was an original control panel overlay for this and if so, where might I find it? Ideally I need some kind of reference point so I can do a good job at it!
Any help on this will be very much appreciated!

Have you already been to this page?

Hi
Yes, I had a look around a few Playchoice 10 websites... couldn't see this specific cabinet though. I found quite a good site that had lots of different US and European variants but not this one.
Thanks for the help

Probably a single monitor version of the cabinet featured at this site (http://www.capcom-unity.com/shadowman16) (I've attached the photos below for posterity). At first I thought this was some sort of bad Atari Cabinet conversion due to those volcanoes and the ungodly location of the coin slot. What designer put the coin slots in such a location? Were they trying to prevent people under 5' from playing?
For the overlay and based on what I can discern from the photos, I see that Arcade Overlays (http://www.arcadeoverlays.com/storefrontprofiles/DeluxeSFItemDetail.aspx?sid=1&sfid=17232&c=383928&i=11008380) has one, but there are some painfully obvious design differences around the volcanoes and the player button layout is different. Enough that I would avoid ordering it since it appears to be for a different cabinet version. The lower part seems usable though. If you can find a scan of that original, you might be able to alter it to fit. But if you do that, might as well search out the exact one. :(
Can you live with no art on the CP long enough to find exactly what you need or do you need this right now or something?

Just realized, the cabinet says "Player's Choice -10", Is this even Nintendo's cabinet?

To be honest, I couldn't tell you! It's one of the things I'm hoping to find out. I will be collecting this soon and I will have a good look at it before I draw conclusions and I make any decisions on restoration, etc! I didn't pay a great deal for it so it will be interesting to have a closer look at it!

Mmm, carried on my search... this cab reminds me very much of this one...

There are a lot of similarities in the designs (although, they aren't quite the same!)

In fact, I have now found the right one...

Still, not much info on it. All I have found so far is that is European and made by an unknown manufacturer! It is a Playchoice 10 and thats all I know. I will carry on investigating! ;D
I found it here...

Right, just to conclude this thread this is what I know...
It is a Brent Leisure version of a Playchoice 10.
It is fully licensed by Nintendo.
It is a UK machine. :)

it is an interesting design...obviously not designed with kids in mind...but still, it would be a very cool cabinet to have.

Haha, yes, as has already been mentioned, if you're a midget or under the age of 12 you might have problems using such a cab!
The only problem with collecting this is, as long as I'm happy with it, it puts the future of my MAME cabinet into doubt. Thats not to say i would not like to continue 'MAME-ing' but I'm going to have to downsize and as I'm still on the look out for a Neo Geo/Jamma cab, I'm soon going to have to prioritise! I wonder whether I should stop investing money in my MAME cab, perhaps just make something smaller for MAME and sell the existing MAME cab back on. It's not something I thought I'd be considering but needs be. Considering I've only had my MAME cab for about 6 weeks as well, that's pretty shocking! :o
Don't get me wrong, I love MAME and it has benefits over dedicated machines, however, I can't help but be drawn to the authentic dedicated cabs... perhaps, eventually, I will look into a J-Pac but I wouldn't want to make any mods to original cabs - just seems a bit sacrilegious!
Decisions, decisions! Doesn't help being stuck at my parent's house either! All I can say is they are very understanding but their patience is starting to stretch!!
