Title: Check out my yoke
Post by: Generic Eric on June 30, 2003, 05:07:24 pm
I won the bid on the link[edit] um...yoke[/edit] mentioned in this thread
 (http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=8907)

Tell me if there are any parts that are obiviously missing.  I know the unit is in disrepair, but I only paid $15 + $15 s/h.   At least, the gears that are there are not cracked.  My manual is on the way, just thought I would ask quick.  Thanks

[edit]
Damn
I am missing at least the gear on the pot on the end.

It looks like you are only missing the one x-axis pinion gear, man...

I think you took a good chance and if you can find a replacement pinion gear at say a RC car shop... you'll be in great shape!

But that's just my off hand analysis... maybe a real yoke head's opinion will differ, see something missing that I'm overlooking.

EDIT:
I'm confused by pic 1 and 2... is it dangling from the mount? *shrug* confused...

Ya, I knew it would be a bit of a risk.  The other obvious thing I am missing are the trigger switchs and thumb buttons.  The other thing I am missing is the little screw joining the two sides of the yoke together.  I should be able to find that without incident though.

I remember someone was making reproduction thumb buttons, i think they were selling them on ebay.  Try searching the forums here, there was a link, but it might have been a year or two back...

Someone should just start molding the thumb and trigger buttons, they're commonly missing, and they'd be simple to produce.  If you're missing the microswitches, they're commonly available at Radio Shack or Fry's, or you can order real cherry replacement switches from Happ.

Looks like you got a decent deal though, for what IS there!

Ya, it is dangling.  I am missing a screw to hold it all together.  The one that goes in the copper colored collar.

Sweet!  Thats cheaper than what I saw on ebay.  Just put my order in.  Thanks!

what is the diameter of the gear that I am missing?  That will help when I search at the rc/hobby store.

thanks
