Haven't got any release date yet, however rumors are flying like crazy.

Stuff like Pixar will be doing the 3D for the movie, stuff about a virus corrupting Tron, etc.

Tron was always one of my favorite movies of all time, and I am both very excited yet very scared that it will be an utter turd.

Seeing that trailer brought back fond memories of my favorite toy.  The Tron cycle.

So I did a search and found it.  Seeing a picture of it with that the fake front wheel reminded me that I hated that toy and my favorite toy was really the Evel Knievel Stuntcycle (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/208296/images/evelknievelstuntcycle.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/mcn/2008/march/10-16/mar1108knieveltoymostpopular/&usg=__Eg3esKZbbTGfB6gG1mUwqwbhgIw=&h=400&w=400&sz=20&hl=en&start=24&um=1&tbnid=4sBTnrGDXLZdaM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3DEvil%2Bknievel%2Btoy%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D20%26um%3D1).

Stupid Tron cycle.

Look at it this way - it can't be much worse than the original.  ;)

This is so true.

I bought the collectors Tron and watched the movie from all those years ago.  Now Tron totally blows, the the new one cannot be as bad.  Incidentally I was watching Wargames last week, and that movie is still ace.  Glad they are not making a remake of that movie.  ;D

It's like the Tron Cycle.

You remeber it being good, until you actually see it again.

Blasphemy!! I still think the original seriously holds it's own. Plus I love Jeff Bridges. And what's-his-name/Sark is cool, too. (Same guy was the baddie in Time Bandits.)

He was the baddie in the Island also and the dodgy Captain James Sawyer in the Horatio Hornblower series.

Our dear friend David Warner.

It looks like a 4 way stick is no longer a requirement for the light cycle phase.  :P

Ah, right. You know, the director of Wrath of Khan said he used Hornblower as a model for re-inventing the Star Trek universe.

Alas.

So the motorcycle follows realistic phyics? What happened to the ability to do stuff that goes against that (like a computer prgram can do): ie: 90' instant turns, or stopping immediately without "braking", etc?

Maybe the computer they're racing inside of uses one of those fancy PhysX cards that no one has ever purchased.  :laugh2:

Too many twit monkeys would complain that the movie was "unreleastic."

Same twit monkeys that actually think you can hack into a secured government mainframe, get past an evolving firewall, not get sucked into the honey pot, fool any and all techies working on their PC that night, automatically fritz all security cameras without the officers on duty thinking anything different and download the schematics, blueprints and security schedules to Fort Knox.... and do it all through America Online.

Are you perchance speaking of War Games II ?
