I can't find any documentation on using the watermark feature for screensaver videos, like what kind of image, where to put it, etc.
It's probably one of those things that's right under my nose, but I'm still not seeing it. :P
-
Someone is using it? Cool.
I have not used it myself
tip: It is a bit busted on the mala beta due to the fact I changed the video engine (I will fix later)
It may work on MaLa 1.5
I can't test for you right now but I can tell you what it is supposed to do, and you can report back and let us know how you went ;D
OK:
If you have watermark enabled in the screensaver section mala will serach for a png, jpg, gif or bmp in the same directory as the videos with the name 'watermark.jpg' or .bmp etc...
It then will work out the transparency color (from bottom left pixel i think) and work out if it should be rotated or not
Let us know ;)

Not that I'm using videos in MaLa or have a direct interest in this, but my curiosity is piqued...
What's the practical use of a watermark over a video? Maybe having a logo in the bottom corner, as the TV networks do? Maybe cropping the video to a cool non-rectangular shape...?
Thanks,
-Jason

Sorry for replying to this so late. The watermark image works the way you said, but for some reason it displays white as transparent. It will display a low value of white, though. Anything over 240,240,240 is transparent.
I don't use the screensaver anymore because after I put the machine to sleep (no screensaver running) when I power it back up the screensaver will be on, and pressing a button will cancel back to the front end but the controls don't work and I have to restart MaLa. I remedied this by using "AVI screensaver" which does pretty much the same thing.
Jasonbar- I thought it would be cool to have my machine's logo display during the attract videos. It turned out to be more annoying than cool, though.
And thanks for helping, Loadman!

Ohh
Is the bottom left corner pixel white by any chance? I think that is what mala uses to pick the transparency color.
-
No, the pixels on all corners were purple. This thing was making about 15 shades of white transparent. ???

If you are using 1.6 (beta) then yes it's busted. :P I have not spent any time getting it working with the new video engine
If you are using 1.5 it should work. Getting it's transparency colour from 0,0.

Having played with transparency a bit, I've found that MaLa doesn't like to pick just 1 pixel. I thought txparency was busted until I made like a 6x6 square in the corner (or made the whole background the color I want gone).
I was looking for some similar help on layouts here, with my findings.

Time for a major grave-dig here - but did this ever get 'fixed'?
I'm using 1.7.4.0 btw.
cheers
