Finally got my parts from Lizard Lick, Thanks you guys.
Special thanks to massive88 for contructing the box.
Special thanks to Haruman for the hack.
Special thanks to Gatsu for the inspiration
Thankyou to all the forums like this and arcadecontrols.com for knowledge and providing a meeting place for gaming enthusiasts like myself. I cannot thanyou guys enough. It was a fun build and I messed up trying to glue down a corner to hold down the acrylic. But overall I think it turned out pretty good.
Future Expansions: Learn photoshop better to fix the graphic. (Center Ken between buttons and joystick).
Possibly add LED buttons not sure might be too much wiring and too much overall. I kind of like it just the way it is.
And finally, I will probably end up cuttina another piece of acrylic for the top panel to fix my screw up.

Looks good man, glad the box worked out well for you. Looks real sharp for a first build especially.
-
That's a really nice job. Do the lights serve a function or are they just art?
-
Where did you get the lighted balltop?
-
Thanks you guys. The LED's really serve no purpose other than a nice lighting effect. During the day I play with them off, at night I turn them on just cause it looks cool. Other than that they are just something extra! The balltop was one of Lizard Licks I just took a drill bit and drilled out the center to make room for a red LED. Once I shaved a bit of the plastic off of the LED itself, it fit perfectly. It was either the Orange top as shown or a clear white top that illuminated a faint red when lit. So I chose the orange balltop just cause it gave off a richer looking red once lit.

Hmm, ok, where did you get the hollow shaft? ;D
-
Lizard Lick,
They are the best supplier of arcade parts I think, I heard they are getting bad mouthed from others about their shipping delays. People should expect that when all of a sudden EVERYONE wants to build their own arcade stick!
Anyways, the hollowed shaft is $19.95 already pre drilled with the hole. You could try drilling the hole out yourself, but as for me I dont have the tools so I just bought it with the hole already. (Need another for my next stick) The wife got jealous after seeing my stick and now she wants one of her own. Gave me an excuse to build another. Woo hoo!! ;D Once Lizard Lick has caught up with their shipments Ill be ordering another hollowed shaft.

Just fyi, Franco B also sells hollow shafts (or at least he used to) thats where I got mine from, if you need another source while LL is out of commission.

Cool thx, for the fyi

Wow, awesome work. I love the design and almost everything about this, but I wonder if people don't get sick of SF-designs by now (although I understand you built the thing for playing SF, so...)? There are so many other designs out there...
-
nice work there. the sf4 logo on the plexi looks good.

Nice stick but the led feet are a little overkill imo.
