Title: FS My Arcade Cabinet-Wheelchair Accessible (orange city, IA)
Post by: KonkeyKong on March 26, 2009, 07:24:35 pm
This has been a great cabinet for me, but it's time to let it go as we need the space for other things.
It is fully wheelchair accessible. The coin door section is mounted with industrial strength ball bearing drawer slides.  It stays forward for normal coin/token play, yet It easily pushes back to allow room for a seated individuals knees and feet.  I'm 6'2" and my electric wheelchair and I have plenty of room at the controls.

It is built from 3/4 inch particle board, 2x4's, 2x6's, plywood, and a couple major lag bolts.  It is solid.  Originally it housed a 27" TV.  When the kids TV died they got the arcade TV and I put a 22 inch Computer monitor in.  Another TV could easily be installed since there is just a heavy duty shelf behind the glass that will hold whatever monitor you'd like.

Control panels are constructed from single sheets of thick gauge aluminum so the are strong while remaining lightweight.  They are covered with Happs back pica vinyl which is quite durable and provides a nice texture. Buttons and joysticks are soldered for secure connections.  Panels swap quickly and easily.
