Title: Now how do I set this UP??

Okay I first read the wiki and every time I load up my custom Layout I make with the included layout maker, I get a dark blue screen still...and I can't get mala to show just the roms I have. anyone have an idoit-proof walkthrough?

try here

also make sure your layout is named the same as your emulator

so
emu = mame
folder in Mala folder called mame
inside mala\mame will be your background pic
inside mala folder is where you save your layout named mame.mll
now open mala and right click mouse to open options and put a tick in emulator for layout switch and a tick in use emu names for folder names or something like that depending on your version

I'm trying to get the same Background image despite the emulator.

then under gui take the tick out of emulator and just choose your layout in the list on the right, if its not in the list then the .mll file is not in the mala directory
