So I have a bday coming up soon and have been thinking about getting a new Arcade monitor. I bought a used 19 inch a few years back for $50. It works fine, but have always wanted a new one. I was thinking I'd just get a new 19 inch because they are reasonably priced.
I was planning doing some looking around eBay all day and just never got to it. I was nearing the end of my work day and decided to hit up eBay before I headed home for the day.
First item I see after searchine was a WG 27 9200 Arcade Monitor. There was one bid of $50, pickup only, and right in my area. Description says it works and is a tri-sync, not much else. The pics weren't very good but I could see it worked. I immediately become very interested. There was about 45 mins remaining, so I waited to the last few seconds and put $100 in as my bid. I won it as only the second bidder.
I end up winning the item at a very low $77 and was very excited. I contacted the seller to ask a few questions, and says there isn't noticeable burn in. I will be picking it up in a day or two and can't wait to see this thing.
Is this not a great steal? :applaud:

More proof that ebay is still the way to go for followers of this hobby - all the parts for my own personal projects come from there.

I say ebay is hit or miss, you got lucky because of the seller not wanting to ship it so you were only competing with locals

Very true. I was just lucky all the way around. Going on eBay right before it ended, and only competing with one other person. I guess I was just shocked how low the price was, no reserve, and basically no competition.
I'm a pretty happy camper

I lucked out in exactly the same way with craigslist. The family of an operator was liquidating and I got a NIB 27" Wells for 80 bucks. It was made in the late 90's and never opened. I look all the time on ebay and craigslist for monitors. Shipping kills the deal on them because it's always nearly 100 bucks.
I was actually kind of worried about caps and all being dried out from just sitting, but the picture on it is beautiful.
