I like the passthrough cover.
I have seen the passthrough's like that before and have used the same or similiar but did not know they made a cover for them also wich makes your unit that much better.
Cool little setup

Thanks! :)
Yeah, I like the passthrough cover. It connects to the passthrough so it doesn't get lost, and screws off when you need to charge.
-
That's really awesome. I've been looking for something like that for the usb passthrough for awhile. Do you mind me asking where you got it?
I was going to try to mount it someway in a sanwa 24mm button that had been taken apart, but wasn't sure it it would fit exactly.
I'd love to see the inside when you get it wired to see how you have everything positioned to fit.

Got it from Digikey:

It's made by Bulgin, the manufacturer part # is PX0842/B

Nice stick! ;D
Is the case metal? Looks like it might open from the bottom. I've seen some sticks made out of metal cases at shoryuken and they come out pretty nice.
-
Thanks for the link. I'm going to look through the spec page, but do you know off hand what size holes you had to cut for it?

It's ABS Plastic.

I'm not sure offhand, I just used the same hole saw I used to drill holes for standard Happs buttons.

Nice job, H! :applaud:
I'll keep my eye out for you online.

Cool. Like a big project box? From the picture it looked like it might be some type of metal case covered with some vinyl. I like it a lot.

Yep, it's a large project box. Internally, it has screw supports that I'll be using to mount the PCB once I get it done. I like it, too. I wasn't too sure about it until I got the parts installed, then I really liked how it looks.

Thanks! Probably be another week or two before I get my PCB done and installed...

If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts did you fidnt he ABS project box? I've been poring through Mouser and other websites looking for a project box for roughly the same purpose, with no luck.

Digikey. :)

Wow so after browsing Digikey for a while, I'm floored by how much stuff they have. Do you recall the product ID or the size/dimensions? I figure it will need to be at least 9x6x4, but I don't see your project box in the catalog. Thanks again for the help.
EDIT: Also, are those standard sized buttons? (i.e. Happ/Ultimarc) The box looks 4-5 inches deep including the lid, but it's hard to tell.

Thanks anyways, I bought DIY kit from QCF gaming. I think I'll get much nicer results than I would have, had I found a suitable project box.

Do you make a sync button when doing a wireless controller? I assume the small ones on top are for back guide and start?

Yes, I do. However, for this one, I just omitted the sync button, since I am hooking up the play & charge kit using the USB passthrough.

Does that sync it to the Xbox you hook it up to? I thought all the play and charge did was power?
Or are you saying that you will never need to resync it due to the rechargable batteries?

Hooking up to an Xbox using a play & charge kit will automatically sync a wireless controller to that Xbox.

I did not know that! Sweet action.
Slowly building up my courage to try and hack a wireless controller...
