Title: 4 gamepads at once?
Post by: meta87 on June 29, 2003, 07:26:51 pm
Got a quick question. If I bought a usb hub and plugged 4 identical gamepads in at once, would they all work? I don't want to do the daisy chaining with the sidewinders, so thats not an option.

I'm mostly concerned that they would get mixed up with all the buttons and all. Of course I could be talking out my but :D

sure they'd work... (and why the prejudice against daisy chaining sidewinders?)

The only rub is if the order will get confused upon bootup.

*shrug*  but i might be talking out my butt with that one...

Well I don't want to daisy chain because I'm using a xbox case and a mini-itx motherboard to make a computer I can plug into my tv and play lots of consoles with.

I wanted to be able to plug joystick one into the first port of the xbox and so on. (Strip out game port and replace with usb)

Thanks :)

Actually, they will work if they all get enough power.  Do you have a powered hub?  If not it will be drawing power form the power supply of the computer.  In that case you have a beefy power supply?

I have that problem right now.  My USB printer, USB mouse, and USB keyboard (with built in hub) is too much for this computer :(

Yup, I do have a powered hub so hopefully that won't be a problem.

Thanks!
