Title: U3000 Pincushion
Post by: brock.sampson on March 20, 2009, 08:36:48 pm
I'm trying to adjust pincushion out of a u3000 monitor.  I have adjusted the width coil and pincushion amp and trap and nothing seems to fix it.  The horizontal size on the remote adjustment board doesn't do anything either.  What other adjustments can I make to try and correct this problem?

i would be looking at the east/west correction diodes and the width control circuit-this looks more like component failure than adjustment issue

Hello, I have the EXACT same problem brock stated above with my U3100 14" WG Monitor.
Pincushion effect, No H. Size or trap Adjustment. Current display width exceeds display area.

I have replaced:
Q1.......D1......C1
Q2.......D2......C6
Q3.......D3......R15....and IC201

Also standard cap kit replacement = C411, C414, C612, C621, & C623

I have discovered D3 (MUR460) keeps blowing. Replacement of this diode temporarily
give H.Size back and slight pin cushion adj. The display colors become much lighter
but H.Size works. Not enough pin cush adj to make much of a difference. Anyway, this
only lasts for several seconds (less than minute) until the diode gives out and it all
reverts back to original problem state.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Travis
