I realize this has been asked umpteen million times before, but....it seems all the tools I can find online to do this are very outdated.
What is the recommended way these days to filter out Adult ROMs from my romset? Basically I want to run the MAME screensaver at work, but don't want the adult ROMs included.
Thanks.
EDIT: I have mame106

I used Mame Content Manager for my 40gb full .110 romset. I got rid of all adult and maajong games using it.

Seriously?
MAME Content Manager
Designed and programmed by Douglas Good

how about romlister then?

If catver is up to date, so is romlister's output.

None of the availabletools are perfect at doing this so you will probably have to pull a few games out manually anyway. Personally I weeded all those games myself to leave a very clean MAME set without all the non-working/mahjong crap. It takes a while but is worth it.

When I first put together my mame cab, some relatives came over and wanted to play. They were 3 girls under 15 and man, it was embarrassing. Their mom was there watching as the first game they selected was some breakout clone with naked ladies. The more I explained that I don't play those games and that they were part of a full MAME set, the more confused they got and the more I felt like a perve. lol ;D

I did the same as turnarcades, go through them and take out what you do not want. I have an excell spreadsheet and I go through listing the games I like, there full title, mame command (as I use the command line version), type of game it is, and comments.
Im in the M's right now, when I get done with the list from A-Z everything not on my list as a keeper gets deleted..
The reward in doing this is saving space and probably running into a ton of games you never knew exsisted that you like.
Of course you own every single one of those games rom, so you already knew about them.

Thank you. ROMLister it is.

I just leave the roms and let Mamewah do the filtering for me, that way I can still play those games if I want (there are some fun games, regardless of content).

You could have a try with http://www.mamedata.com (http://www.mamedata.com)
It is a personal tool I use in this case.

Be careful and doublecheck with Romlister...There has been cases where I made lists and I ended up losing games i wanted and getting games i did not want...

majong gone=bliss I may have to look into this, dont want rid of the Adult games (gals panic is actually quite fun i think) but being rid of majong... it almost brings a tear of joy to my eye. Downside is 50% of the games in the working list would be gone.
