Title: Oh! what happens? images are filtered...
Post by: Stormrider on March 19, 2009, 09:48:46 am
Today I've placed a couple of images in my layout and I've noticed they are non pixel perfect, but filtered. Why? I'm using a low res layout (368x240). I don'm mind snapshots being stretched and filtered, since they are bigger than my screen and need being dinamically resized, but my images... no way... I've spent hours with them. Why don't they look right in the MALA frontend but they do look perfect in the MALALayout?

I still haven't found the way to disable this behaviour. However, I've found an alternative idea: place de pictures in the background. Now, they are pixel perfect.

Judging from this topic and the one about screensavers, I'd say youre using Layout the wrong way.  I dont know what you mean by "filtered", you mean pixellated, grainy, blocky, blurry?  ???

Can you post some pics of Layout and FE?

Look, I've taken a screenshot with a sample picture of the screensaver screen. I've also duplicated and resize the image so that you can see the differences. First, the original image in native form (you can see the pixels). Second, what MALA shows when running the screensaver. Obviously, in high res modes this is not very noticiable, but it is in low res modes.

I've finally found the reason for this problem. I had the snapshot quality set to blur, and this affect also to the screensaver and othe pics. I've set it to quality and now it's perfect.
