Title: Quick Question - Screenshots in Mala FE
Post by: ev1d3nc3 on March 16, 2009, 05:25:20 pm
I am having a bit of trouble understanding how snapshots work - when I download snapshot packs for nintendo 64, snes, genesis, etc, they come package as CRC_Titles and CRC_Screens. The filenames are crc digits, like A023049.

My question is - when I put these folders and point Mala to them, the snapshots never load correctly. My mame snaps are working fine, so I know it's not the skin.

So, how do these snapshots packs work? Am I not installing them correctly - it seems like the file name should match the rom to make the snapshots show up, but the filenames of the snapshots are not even close, so I can't use a tool like fuzzy renamer.

Any tips on this? I have a feeling that I just don't understand how Mala calls snapshots from the folder that I put them in. Anyone who would be willing to shed a little light on this for me would be great. Thanks in advance!

You may get a quicker response if you post in the MaLa forum!  ;)

I figured it out.

For those of you seeing the same problem

Step 1: Download Snaps from http://www.emumovies.com/console.html
Step 2: Use FuzzyRenamer on Snaps and actual Roms
Step 3: Copy Snaps to correct folder

Quite a run around - I wonder why the other snapshot files I downloaded were CRC files?
