I was using a KVM switch box between my PC and Xbox - however, when I use my new PC, the boot up screens will appear but past that, I get 'signal out of range' - why oh why!? What can I do to solve this?
Also, on some games (not all!) I get a black bar on one side of the screen indicating the image isn't centred - do I need to alter the cfg files for each of the games that suffers this problem to stretch the screen?
If anyone can help me with either of these problems I'd really appreciate it!

Might re-title your thread with the main bits involved to get more attention.

Not sure if this resolves your issue or not, but on the Signal Out of Range issue, that message appears when there's a wrong refresh rate for the screen resolution you're using.
To fix this, boot your computer up in safe mode with VGA (I think that is the correct option). Once the computer is finished booting up, go to your desktop screen and right-click on an unused part of the desktop and click properties. Next, go to settings and set the resolution to a mode supported by your monitor. If not sure which one to choose, try 60Hz.
