Title: Vertical position?
Post by: Kayden on March 14, 2009, 01:09:12 pm
After randomly spinning knobs, I have a pretty picture now!   ;D  I loaded Raiden Fighters and squealed like a school girl; I'm not ashamed.

However, after I was happy with the colors, I noticed the monitor shape and size wasn't PERFECT!
I have a knob for horizontal shift and vertical size, but I don't have a knob for vertical shift and horizontal size.

I see some pins labeled Horz & Vert Raster Shift.  What do those do?

The squealing I hear probably isn't a good thing, is it?

I hooked my Wells Gardner 19K4901 to my laptop via a spiced VGA cable and ran soft 15k.  After a reboot, I had a picture on the arcade monitor.  However, the picture is lacking secondary colors.

The wires I hooked up were R, G, B, -V, -H, and Ground.  There's a label on the monitor for connections on that end and I tore apart the VGA cable to see which wires went to which pins.  The monitor's -V and -H were spiced together for connecting to the JAMMA board, but I cut them apart and attached them individually for VGA.

The monitor is a bit dim too, but I read that was to be expected and plan on building a video amp: http://pc2jamma.mameworld.info/images/big/vamp.gif
