Title: A qyestion for the Electrical Guru's
Post by: Fordman on March 13, 2009, 05:34:10 pm
Hello All,

I bought 2 Lumin Disks and I need to know if I can direct wire them to the PC power supply. The power adapters that came with them say 12V-500ma. I just need to know if connecting them the the PC power supply will harm them in any way?

Yes ?  No ?

Thanks for the time,

Fordman

Is the power supplies that came with them 12v AC or DC ?

Thanks for the help! The Lumin Disks say 'AC' so I assume you can connect them to the PC Power supply ?

PC supply outputs DC.  Likely a no-go if the device requires AC.  There are some circumstances under which they may work, but then there are also plenty of circumstances under which you'll melt things.  Just use the brick that came with it.

Looks like I'll just use what came with them to power them up!

Thanks All for the help!
