Title: IPAC2 Question
Post by: iAtoria on March 11, 2009, 04:07:22 pm
So I have been lurking around buying an IPAC only because I do not know whether or not I should get a 2 or a 4.  I plan on only have a 2-player cab, but may need 3 or 4 extra buttons on my CP that may or may not be supported by the IPAC2.

I understand that IPAC2 has
-2 joysticks (8 inputs total)
-8 buttons per joystick (16 inputs total)
-2 coin/start buttons (4 inputs total)

The site says that it has 32 inputs, where are the other 4?  Better question is can they be used to alter mame settings like bring up the emulator list or

Here are the extra buttons I need on my CP (note that I am only using 6 buttons per joystick)
-Pause
-Exit
-Save (State saving for other emus)
-Load (Load states)
-Emu (Emulator List)
-List (Game List)

By default pressing 1player+2player is esc and 1player and down is pause and a few others I can't remember
You can program other combinations
all frontends will load your game with any key you select(By default its usually player1)
Your emu list/game list will be in your frontend and controlled using the your joystick and and buttons you choose in the settings of your FE

You shouldnt need a coin2 for 99% of games, 4player games yes but there is uaually a 2player equilelent

***EDIT***
Just checked my ipac2 and its got 28inputs
14inputs per player
4 Joystick
8 Buttons
1 Start
1 Coin
