Title: Mala - PC Game Problem (Alt+F4)
Post by: iAtoria on March 08, 2009, 05:20:01 pm
Here's the problem.  I have a PC game that will only exit if you press ALT+F4.  I am going to have a cabinet configuration with Mala (since it is the easiest to set up for a noob like mwah).  With a keyboard I can easily get back to the front end by pressing Alt+F4 on the keyboard, the problem is that when I have the cab set up I can't have this.  Most games I have use ESC to exit, so I was wondering if there is some kind of shell that will run PC games and then exit via ESC?  Or does someone know the easiest solution to this problem.

I think MALA offers mapping some "HotKeys" for each emulator.  Perhaps you can indicate "Alt F4" as a hotkey for your emulator using this method.

Here is a link which should have the information you need to learn about "Hotkeys", however, the link is dead.   I just informed Loadman of this problem so perhaps he can fix it soon.

Figured it out.

Just set two hotkeys to close:

ALT+F4 = Close
ESC = Close

Now when I have a PC game running I can press ESC and the game will close.  Not sure of the logic behind that but I am assuming:

ALT+F4 = Close = ESC
