Title: FIXED: All coils stopped working.
Post by: pinballwizard79 on March 07, 2009, 09:22:56 pm
Damn, I buy a new machine today & it plays fine.

Then when I get home NONE of the coils work.

Any ideas?

Dogh!

1994 Data East WWF Royal Rumble.

All switches work, as do the lights & it registers normal game play.

The problem is it never kicks the ball out & when I cycle coils none work.

Odds are its simple, I swear I checked every clip but no luck.

I hate moving these things, so far out of the half dozen I have owned total only one arrived home without issues......

They dont like being disturbed when sleeping.

This should be a new enough machine to have a "safety cutoff" switch at the hinge of the coin door.

If the coin door is open, all coil power is shut off. If the coin door is closed the coil power is switched on.

Yeah when I open the coin door I hear "errrrrrrr".

When its closed I dont hear that sound.

That being said it seems to be something else.

Its frustrating because everything else works, damn!

Included is a pic of the switch I think you are referring to, let me know if I am wrong.

One more bit of info, there are not any coin mechs & when I just tap the flipper it restarts the info on the DMD regarding the replay score. Ususally I have to hold it to get such on my other machine.

Dogh, I want to drink my corona's & get ready to rummmmmmmmmmble!

I don't see a picture. Also check all fuses (with a meter) for a blown one.

Evidently when I pulled out the coin door I pressed in a switch.

This switch must be extended out, if its pushed in all flashers & coils are dead.

I would imagine this is a way to be really sure you wont die when working on ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.

Regardless I drank a lot with several people in the game room last night. All we did was complain about how I drove 600+ miles drinking so much monster & redbull I was grinding my teeth & unable to pee......then 10+ hours later I return with a machine that lights up all pretty & does nothing.

Reminds me of my Ex

I do not like that switch in case you were wondering.
