Title: Remote Control 6-1 Jamma extention
Post by: ZORK2 on March 05, 2009, 11:22:53 pm
I'm thinking of putting one of these in my MKII machine so I can run multiple boards. Has anyone done buisiness with this guy,  and if you have how difficult is it to hook up another board? Is it as easy as it seems? Plug and go another Jamma?

He has been around a long time.   Seems pretty good but his items vary in quality.

You'll always hear two things:

1. Yeah great seller

2. Cheap chinese crap

The truth is both. But if you have problems with an item, he's been great and providing exchanges, etc.  CheffoJeffo can probably shed more light on this......

I don't know about the JAMMA switcher, but the guy is legit as a seller. I bought a video encoder off him to test arcade boards using a TV.

I can't shed more light than RayB has -- I have bought from him a number of times. The one problem item that I had he replaced immediately. And, yeah, he does stock a lot of cheap crap, apparently some of which are copies of items developed by other vendors and folks in the hobby.

tok -- how did the encoder work out ?

I got it a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to try it yet. The setup I want to use is still in a cab and it's been really cold. Its supposed to be in the 50's here most of next week, so I might get a chance to mess with it this week.

I actually want to use it to test the guts of a partially stripped JAMMA machine before I buy another monitor for it. If the encoder works, I was then thinking of doing a Supergun type setup with a 13" TV.

Just a note if you go with this item, you need to run your own -5V line for your midway pcbs or you will have a buzzzzz for sound.
