Title: Problems attaching zip files
Post by: Neverending Project on March 03, 2009, 11:57:36 am
I have recently tried to attach some zip files to this post (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=88294.0). They show up as being attached, but both myself and javeryh are unable to download them. I tried uploading them with two different browsers just to be sure (Google Chrome and Firefox 3.0.6).

Is anyone else having problems recently?

Yeah, I see the error. Not sure how to fix it yet. Will keep you posted.

Just had a quick poke around and in index.php we can see action=dlattach executes Display.php. Two things that stick out to me are

Quote
   void Download()
      - downloads an attachment or avatar, and increments the downloads.
      - requires the view_attachments permission. (not for avatars!)
      - disables the session parser, and clears any previous output.
      - depends on the attachmentUploadDir setting being correct.
      - is accessed via the query string ?action=dlattach.
      - views to attachments and avatars do not increase hits and are not
logged in the "Who's Online" log.

It seems like it could be an execute issue. But it would be worth going into the log and seeing what errors are being logged and perhaps make at post about it on the SMF forums. You could also consider disabling eval() (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=290186.0) temporarily to get accurate errors.

I have the same problem. The file appears to upload ok but I get this error when trying to download via Firefox

Code: [Select]
C:\DOCUME~1\Fran\LOCALS~1\Temp\NH99vkej.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

Has there been any progress with this? I see that people are still getting the same errors. I wasn't sure if the admin still knew it was an issue.

It appears that this issue is getting worse.  (Or I'm totally clueless, both are real possibilities  ;D)

I posted a request for set49mode on the software forum as I was having a heck of a time finding an active download link anywhere.  Thankfully Popcorrin came to my rescue and emailed me the file after not being able to attach it to the thread.  Just to be sure I also attempted to attach the file and I can't find any way to do so.

Anyone else having this problem?  :dunno
