Can anyone recommend a nice touch screen monitor?
Thanks.
ps. Want it for a Jukebox setup, PC based.
-
ebay can be a source :

if u have decent repair skills, non-working ones can be had VERY cheaply.

Cool but I was not asking really where to buy one, I was asking what model or what brand to buy.
Is "Elo" the popular brand?
-
I guess touchscreen monitors are not very popular here... :(

19 PAGES turn up when searching for touchscreen.

Hoopz... Do me a favor and please add me to your ignore list.

You're on there. I just haven't switched to the SMF theme. ;)
And it was a legitimate post. I wasn't saying to search. I was merely demonstrating that there are a lot of threads about em. Don't get your panties in a bunch. :P
You have to realize that there are a lot of people that come here for a project, get it done, and never really participate after that. Posting the details regarding the info from search may indicate that something is popular just in case you want to look at projects from members who won't respond to questions as they never read the forums.
And ELO is fairly popular. I have one that's in a project that's about half done.

^^^ This should have been your first reply.
So... What model ELO do you have? 15, 17 or 19"?
How much did you pay for it?
Get all my questions in now before you switch to SMF. :P

And you should have posted that you had searched but had questions that were unanswered. >:D Seriously, it would benefit you to spend some time looking at other people's projects, comments etc.
Mine is a 15 inch POS terminal so it's probably not indicative of what you can purchase. I'm upgrading the CPU to a PIII 1 Ghz to see how it runs a few touchscreen games via Mame. My thoughts are that it will still suck. As I haven't had time to drop the new CPU in, I've just shelved it for a while.
Switching in 5, 4, 3.... :laugh2:
EDIT: Left out a verb!

I plan on mainly using mine for a jukebox but I am now wondering how well the fruit games play or if at all, have you tried those?
-
Nope. I believe that the touchmaster games were added around .125 so I put that version of MAME on. I may try fruit games at some point but I'm not sure.
I may network it and use it as a jukebox but I'd rather use my Xbox and receiver for that. :dunno

Just wanted to note that that stands for POINT OF SALE..... so as not to confuse the OP. ;)
And yes, ELO has been around a loooong time.
Also noteworthy would be any Microtouch hardware.

I initially posted just POS but added terminal to help explain it. ;)

I use to work for POS for a large super market chain, they started to use IBM touch screens before I left... JUNK!
