Title: MAWS - CHD question
Post by: Hoopz on March 02, 2009, 09:23:35 am
I recall searching MAWS before (when it was still available) looking for a particular CHD file or checking to see how they were listed.  I didn't have much luck but I also wasn't spending a lot of time either.

Now that MAWS isn't available, what's the best way to find a list of games that are CHD files?  I can find the CHDs but I am not always sure what the game is because of the nomenclature used in naming the files.

Suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Well, there's romLister (http://www.waste.org/~winkles/ROMLister/).  Great mame's listxml data query tool (MAWS is mostly based on listxml).  Might have to hand type the chd name in the text box on the bottom instead of using the automatic tools, but that's what great with romLister: you can pick exactly what to want to query.

Or you use the edit local hosts file to get to MAWS.

Also, they're working on getting MAWS back up at a new site, so you can wait until then.
