Title: Windows XP startup & shutdown sounds aren't playing :(
Post by: jasonbar on February 28, 2009, 02:08:18 pm
Howdy-

I've got Windows XP Pro running my cabinet.

I go into the Sounds control panel & set up a sound for Start Windows ("Intruder Alert Intruder Alert") & Exit Windows ("Chicken.  Fight like a robot").  They play fine in the control panel when I select & preview them, but I get no sounds during the actual Windows start or exit...

...any thoughts on why not?

Thanks!
-Jason

did you disable them when you set up your system or are you using installer shell?

I'm just booting plain old Windows XP, no instant sheller or anything.

I don't see how to disable system sounds.  Is that in the Sounds control panel?

Thanks,
