I am replacing an old wells gardner monitor with a new wells gardner 27" d9800. After receiving the new monitor today i found pretty quickly that the old brackets do not fit the new monitor at all. So now I have to find a method of mounting this monitor in the cab. I searched around the forums and found one topic where a guy used lowes metal shelving to make a mount for a jr. pacman cab, although I wasn't too clear on how he mounted the shelving to the actual cab. I am also worried that this particular monitor would weigh quite a bit more then the smaller 19" he was using - so the shelving may not hold.
Can anyone suggest a mount method for this, or point me to a thread that deals with this topic? Thank you.

Exo,
I am not familiar with the Wells Gardner D9800, so not positive, but I think I can help you out. I have a Mortal Kombat II cabinet that I am MAMEing, which I think is the same Konami cabinet that TMNT came in. I got the cabinet empty and was planning on building a shelf and putting in a TV. Well I was able to get a Wells Gardner D9200 monitor and of course decided to go that way.
I had the same issue the cabinet has mounts for a 25" monitor and the D9200 is a 27". I was able to pretty easily modify the monitor mounts in order to be able to use them with the D9200. You can see the steps I needed to take in this Project Announcements post:

Basically I created a template for the monitor, shaved off the posts on the mounts. Used the template to drill holes to match the monitor mounts and then had to trim the mounts a little to allow for the larger monitor. I am not sure if the D9800 has the same mounting holes as the D9200, but I would think they would be very similar if not exactly the same.
The part that you trim off is small and does not affect the way they attach to the cabinet and the monitor is very sturdy and secure. Let me know if you have any questions.

Did you ever get the monitor in your cabinet? I want to do the same thing and was wondering if the 27" monitor would fit in that cabinet? The TMNT cabint is not very deep and I would think the larger monitor would stick out the back. Either way I that would be fine I would just have to modify the back door but if it fits good that that would be even better.

Yeah I was wondering if it would fit. someone told me i needed a shelf monitor cuz the d9800 was not a shelf monitor and it would be to deep. let us know I have a tmnt cab i need a monitor for as well. and post pics!!

Well, I picked up a new WG D9800 and Bezel and installed it into my TMNT MAME cab. The monitor looks amazing but it is to big for the cabinet so I will have to modify the back door. I don't mind but it does suck that it wont fit properly.
Here is some pictures with it installed.
The picture does not do the quality of the actual image on the monitor.

Make sure you write up a review of the monitor after a month or so. Seems everyone's forgetting. Looks good, though.
