Title: KLOV Broken?
Post by: FrizzleFried on February 26, 2009, 10:15:20 am
I can log in to KLOV and send PM's all day long,  but I am unable to POST or even REPLY to posts.  Anyone else having this issue?

Have you been hiding under a rock Friz? The long awaited upgrade is in process. McLemore's post was a little hard to understand, but I think posting will be set up again this afternoon.

I found the announcement above the main list of forums...I was logging directly in to the KLOV forums.

I wasn't holding my breath as this is the 3rd or 4th time an upgrade was being discussed with no further action in the last 2 years.

Nice to see it finally happening.

Yes, the upgrade is in motion now. Temporarily it's a "read only" forum. Posting will be turned back on later today from what I understand.

Is it me or is COSP down too? Got a 404 when I tried refreshing the page, and when I tried going to the COSP home page Firefox reports it has a redirect loop (redirects to itself).

KLOV is back up and looks very modern :D

The old forums took a LONG time to get used to, but I did grow to like some of the features that are now gone. They are using the same software that slickdeals uses, and I am not the biggest fan of it over there either.

I can't log in over there. Says my username and password are invalid.

There was a message about that for some time. "Too easy" passwords would be removed or something like that....

Man, the new forum over there takes A LOT of getting used to. Still A LOT of kinks to be worked through. it might take a while.

Can't think of any feature that I liked over there.
What I do miss is buttons to insert code like URL's  and pics etc. Or am I missing something ?

Frankly McElmore's doing this all wrong.  He should have had the new forum up and running and MODIFIED and BETA TESTED before flipping the switch.  It's chaos over there right now.

From what he said in the past 2 weeks, he did do that. Apparently he didn't do as good as he thought... ;)

The more I see the place (not counting the bugs) I do not like the new software. I quit participating at slickdeals because the forum software was difficult to navigate and keep up with. That is a good software for a low traffic forum, but it will not be good for KLOV I fear. It is normal for a thread to quickly rack up 30-40 posts. Now we have NO IDEA where we last left off in a thread.

That red (45) thing on every post was a great forum tool. It's long gone now I suppose.

Click the ICON next to the thread title and it takes you directly to the new posts for that thread.  Also,  there "IS" a NEW POSTS button.  The new software reminds me a lot of THIS software...be that good,  bad,  or indifferent.

I assume the forums are down again over there? My hotlink was dead, so I went to webmagic. Only the jukebox forum shows up. I tried to log in and I got this:

You have been BANNED

Reason: none

When ban will be lifted: Never

Sweet! I've never been banned before! Now i know how PBJ feels.  ;D

I got the same thing. The original bookmark I have no longer works so I go to webmagic.com

Now I can log in, but it says I'm banned. :(

Everything appears back to normal now. My hotlink works and everything.

I had to register through the international arcade museum.  KLOV wouldn't work.

The registration thing should be fixed with the new update. I just checked it out, and new registration is disabled until later today while they continue updating.

Now it's back to invalid username and password again for me. :(

The general consensus is that you need to login through www.klov.com

Click the MESSAGE BOARDS link at the top.

It should work that way.

Please report your findings Ken.  I've mentioned your plight over at KLOV...

I've not gotten TWO reports from two different users that the system told them they were BANNED from the forums, and asking me if that was correct. No one has been banned this month. If this is happening to you, please contact me immediately if you can on this board or via email at staff2008@webmagic.com

Hm. I ain't been there in......at least a couple/few months. Used my same old link, went straight there. Username, including 'space', and fairly simple (yet likely original) password both worked.
