Title: Monitor Glass Retention Solution

I posted this over in the project announcement thread, but I thought it might be of general interest too.  Basically, its my idea on how to mount the monitor glass in the arcade machine.  When I got to that phase of the project, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of info about how exactly to do it.  I wanted to be able to remove the glass if necessary and have a tight, seamless fit.  Basically, there is a sliding piece of wood that pushes the glass up against another, fixed piece of wood.  It's hard to explain, but hopefully these diagrams will help:

This is what the movable piece looks like:

The bottom of the glass is in a groove cut in the admin panel and the sides of the glass are not held by anything (its just a tight fit.)  The bezel keeps light from creeping out.

Anyway, hope this inspires the thought process for anyone that is trying to figure out this part of the cabinet.

Yes it is the same design I have with my sub minis.  The glass was always the PITA part of the project.

I got around this by making a slot with the holding bracket similar to yours.  The top of my marquee is removable when I want to clean the glass, like yours it is a tight fit. If you are not careful you get the dreaded crack, which is a pain to replace (well in my neck of the woods it is).

I also had this problem in my larger cab, but I had two metal rails that held the glass in place.

I think your drawings should be stickied and placed in the BYOAC Wiki for future reference.  Well done.  :applaud:
