I haven't had much luck in the past with using a TV in a cab. I was wondering if someone could recommend one by brand or model number that has shown good results.
I'll be using S-Video from computer to TV.
I have another computer I'd like to use (someday) without S-Video output. Has anyone tried those $4.00 vga to s-video cables with good results?

The Toshiba 27A33 has had a lot of positive reviews on this site, but I was never able to track one down on Craigslist. I'm using a JVC AV-27320, and I've got no complaints so far!

Anyone use a Sony Wega? I'm seeing some good prices for them on CL.

If you don't know it already, two features you definitely want to look for on any TV if you're looking to power everything up in the cabinet with one button are (1) power return and (2) last channel recall. I imagine the WEGAs probably have them.

I'll be using a smart strip so no worries.

I'm using one, too, which is why last channel return is necessary. When the TV shuts off via the Smartstrip, then when the power comes back on, some sets will tune into the default channel (3 or 4, usually, I think). With last channel return, however, it will come back to whatever the last setting was (in my case, Video 1).

I'll be using the Control (main) outlet for the TV so it will still get power for last channel, etc. My computer is safe for Hard(yank-the-plug-out) Shutdown with normal reboot after power-on.

Ah, got it. At any rate, I'm pleased with the JVC, and hopefully you'll get more input from other members and find one that you're happy with.
Which others have you tried in the past that you didn't like?

I've tried a 25" Sharp and a 27" Magnavox (I think). Both had RCA inputs, no s-video.

S-Video looks rotten, IMO. Browse the monitor/video forum. All the info you need is already there.

Funny you should say that. After a few people told me that today I found a 25" arcade monitor on Craig's List. I just brought it home. Can anyone help me ID it?

I'll post this in the Monitor Forum later.

Well, it looks analog. I'd google all the numbers you can find.

I can ID the Sun Chips. Tasty!

Ken Layton says it's a QNIC model CGM-2500. I think it's from a Neo Geo? I got it from a trusted local seller for $50. It even works!
