Shouldnt you download the program from Ultimarc, WinIPAC Interactive Panel Designer http://www.ultimarc.com/download.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/download.html)?

That should get you started!

It should be set up already; just hit TAB in MAME, then "General Controls", to map the keys/joys to your needs.

Do you not need to send a control file from winipac? i think you can even create your own custom one.

 :dunno

All I know is that I wondered the same thing after getting mine, pre-installed (got a CP from arcades-r-fun), and e-mailed them. Jack responded stating that it should work "out of the box", and sure enough, it did.

Have you plugged it in ? Are you having specific problems ?

It should work out of the box with MAME (exception for P3 and P4 keymaps, which don't apply here).

Yes I have plugged it in and it was set up for X-Arcade not all the buttons worked, but I am going to try it out in standard keyboard.

(QUOTE FROM ULTRIMAC
Do I have a lot of setting up to do before playing?
NO. Using the key-code programming is entirely optional. When the board is shipped, all codes are automatically assigned to MAME standard keys. As many people have found, this makes installation very quick and easy.

Sorry -- I didn't mean to be a smartass ... the problem just wasn't clear to me.

You could open up notepad, and see what button presses "type" in the .txt document, to see for sure whay keys are bound to what input.

No problem I never took it that way ;D

But I did try it out in MAME, like ULTRIMAC stated to set it up in MAME everything worked except player 2 buttons 5,6, & 7 had to be set up manually in MAME 125, for some reason those buttons where not assign to anything ???

Standard issue; those keys for some reason are not mapped by default; 'tis a MAME thing  ;)

Do you know if an ipac and a jpac can be used together? I have a standard 2 player c/p and want to also use my electronic coin door. I know the ipac would be connected via a ps2 cable but what about the jpac?

Yes these can be used together in any combination of PS/2 or USB.

Normally you would need to re-program one board for all different keycodes from the other board.
