Title: Parts/Boards/Etc Needed for Kneival Control Panel
Post by: iAtoria on February 12, 2009, 01:25:08 pm
I was just wondering if there existed a parts list for a Knieval Style Control Panel, besides wood, t-molding, and plexiglass.  If not could someone explain to me the parts that would be needed to make the control panel for this cab:

I suppose I am a little lost as to how he sets up 3 joysticks with an IPAC2 and I don't fully understand how the spinner/trackball/mouse works.

You can wire 3 joysticks to an IPAC2 if 2 of them share the same inputs.   Eg top joystick sharing inputs from joystick 1.  Spinner interface depends on what spinner you buy.   Some just plug into your USB or PS2 such as the Turbo Twist 2 (includes interface).  Some older spinners require an interface board such as an optipac.

Here are some good shots underneath the CP.  You should be able to make a list off of this:  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=55789.msg548744#msg548744

Also, for what it's worth, there were made before the U360s gained popularity.  You could eliminate the 4-way and eliminate having to switch between 4 and 8-way if you go with 2 U360s... of course you lose the click of the microswitch but once you get used to it you won't want to go back!
