Title: Wifi buffer?

I recently set up a home network system, and have been streaming video. For some odd reason I get a little "bug" every once and awhile that delays the video for half a second. Is there a way to increase the wifi buffer? (yes I am using wifi, not 1000 based T). Or is this not the problem?

Wifi is not very reliable for time sensitive stuff, the playback software would need to have a greater buffer.

I have had loads of issues playing even 720p stuff over a 802.11g lan - and thats only with video peaking at about 5 megabits - well short of the 20 that I get when benchmarking the lan most times.

Nature of the beast, either try some n wireless gear, or pull a cable for the ultimate solution, otherwise find if you can increase the buffer in the playing software.

You know what's really really bizarre?  I use Xbox Media Center and I can't actually get my files to even play unless I set the buffer to zero.  Actually that's over a wired connection.  Obviously this is just a problem with the software, but it sure is annoying.  I have some .mkv files that are pretty much unwatchable, but might work if they could be buffered.
