Quick question: I'm trying to connect a replacing G07 PCB set to the tube that came with my Centipede (so also G07). I got all connections back easy enough, but I'm not 100% sure about the two white wires coming from the metal casing that surrounds the CRT. I guess that's the degauss-coil ??
Do the wires go on the two pins near the mains power connection ?
Checked the manual but pictures are not clear and I'm not sure about the schematics.....
Thanks !

Two white FIRES, huh? Heheheh. That title is gooood.

Yes..... should also be a little black box nearby, that would be the PTC component for the degauss.

Thanks Kev, that was the one I thought it would be !
I tried the "new" PCB set on my Centi G07 tube and it seems to work. At least I got an over bright screen (turned down the HVT pot). Haven't connected the video signals though...tonight !

It works ! :) !
Can't get a full size horzizontal picture though. Doing the cap-kit now and let's see if that improves it. Else it's carefully adjusting the width coil.
Question: Bob Roberts' instruction with the kit mentions a mod. I found some info about this on the net saying it was to prevent curl with some more modern game PCB's ? Would this be a benefit with my Centipede ?

Be sure to use the right tool...... plastic.... otherwise you will break the core.

Honestly, I've personally only had that problem with the newer games (modern).
I would think with Centipede it should be OK.
And by "horizontal" do you actually mean "vertical" as if it was in the Centipede?
(horizontal = long side, vertical = short side)

Yes, I've got a complete plastic toolset I forgot to return to one of my former employers (no really !).
OK, I'll keep it original, it was working OK before the cap-kit so....
Horizontal and vertical are always referened to the base of the monitor isn't it ? Not the way it's mounted in the cab.
Anyway, yes when the monitor would be in the cab, I couldn't get the full height (=width) :D

Well, yes and no..... ;)
There are vertically mounted frames, which would make the vertical side the base....but yeah, you got the right idea.

Well, I changed my mind (again) and did the mod, it was easy enough.
The good news is that after the cap-kit everything worked like before. I thought the monitor was a bit dim though. Checked B+ and it was only 95V. Could up it to 120V with the pot, but it was hard to get exactly 120V. I figure the pot is not that good anymore. Monitored it and it stays firm though.
Screen is nice and bright again. Also the width has increased because of this, but I still have to see if I can get it a bit wider.
Seems like the convergence is not perfect, but acceptable. So some adjustments and it can be mounted back into the Centi.
