$252 million contract != worthless
In his confession he claims it feels good to finally get this gorilla off his back.
He's had to live with this lie for a full week ...it must have been horrible.

Which is why it is preposterous why the other idiots didn't also come clean. I mean Giambi 'kind of' came clean, and was embraced by alot of fans. He tried hard to play well, but he was never good to start with - it was the steroids playing before.
The saddest fact in all of this: Barry Bonds and A-Rod are, and would still have been, 2 of the best ball players to ever play. Sure they may not have had the homerun record, but without a doubt bonds was hall-bound with many records. They just couldn't be happy with what they had though, and that is sad. I, along with many fans, have lost the passion for baseball. I hold idiots like these personally responsible for that. I think the fans need to organize a class-action lawsuit against these fools.

A-Rod has a ten year contract that which isn't hurt by a steroid admission.
Other guys have to worry about how they're going to feed their families this decade, or maybe they're really drug free and it's the fans who are clinging to unfounded steroid rumors who should come clean about their jealousy...

Baseball has already been ruined by this stuff. The way I see it, at this point the only way to level the playing field (not to mention give the fans more action) is to make steroids legal and encouraged. Same goes for the Olympics.

Its not just baseball. Last I heard, the NFL's drug testing administration was done by the same dudes who administer's the WWE's drug testing plan. Hello? There's confidence for ya!
Also, just because there were 100 or so that tested positive for a banned substance, it doesn't mean there were JUST 100. Several types of HGH are still difficult to find in tests and I have a belief that HGH became more popular than steroids a few years ago.
In no way am I implying all pro athletes cheat, but sticking with baseball, during that era, I wouldn't have been surprised if the number was closer to 200; not a majority but still quite a high number.
I too would love for the players to out themselves, it would go a long way to rebuild the trust (and fans are the most forgiving folks you can find). Whatever the case, this is big and the integrity of the game(s) IS at stake.
- If Clemens got an advantaged due to steroids and thus was able to get people out that he wouldn't have, which in turn means the other team had a loss when they shouldn't have, changes the rules of the game
- If Rodriguez got a homer off a pitcher who then got charged with a loss; what about that dude's stats? What if that guy was sent to the minors since "he couldn't get the job done"?
- What if a player under performed because he's not cheating, while another player performed better, where's the equality in the contracts each got afterwards?
I'm not fan of the present Commish but he's getting a lot of flack for something he couldn't control. From what I understand, the baseball Union forced that drug testing "deal", they wouldn't give in. Seems the concept of integrity and owning up to a mistake is alien to them.

There is no negative stigmas for rock and rollers or other artist who use drugs to increase their creativity, it’s like the people complaining are just holding grudges against the jocks because in high school they were held upside down in a toilet.

Yeah, let 'em wreck their bods. They got the money to pay for it later. However, not allowing little things like filing for bankruptcy, let alone any kind of publicly funded health insurance (if it came down to that), might be good checks and balances.

I very much disagree with this. HGH and steroids are ILLEGAL unless for medical reasons. Just because Baseball didn't have a specific rule doesn't make it ok. If it's against the law in America to take them, that should be enough. So from my POV, that era was very regulated, just not by baseball.
