Title: Strange cabinet - American version of a Japanese cab
Post by: cmoses on February 08, 2009, 11:35:33 am
I saw this posted on my local craigslist for sale and had never seen a cabinet like this.  The game is Fighting Vipers.  I went to KLOV and looked at the game, but the cabinets shown there are more traditional.  Does Sega make this cabinet?

Seems like the were trying to bring the Japanese style to America.

*Edited - I didn't originally post the name of the game.

Pretty sure that's a Die Hard cabinet.

Definitely a Die Hard cabinet...... only game I've ever seen in one of those cabinets unless it had been converted.

Weird shape for a dedicated; would have thought it was a generic if I didn't know better.

It does appear to be a converted Die Hard.  Don't think I ever saw that machine in the either.

A very stange cabinet indeed.

I edited the original post.  I forgot to put the name of the game - Fighting Vipers.

Fighting Vipers ran on similar hardware to the Die Hard game if I recall.

I recognize that cabinet, that's off of Austin craigslist. If that was a Die Hard cabinet for 400 with that Roadblaster game (Never seen that one before) I would get it, I loved that game.

I feel like I'm stalking you because I've seen your project in the forums and since I'm in Lubbock but  from the Austin area, I check the Austin one all the time and what do I see today? Your tv that you sawed down. The weird thing is I was about to do the same thing to mine which was a 27" from Chilis I bought for $10 but I ended up trading it for a brand new 23".

STOP STALKING ME  :hissy:

Or at least buy my TV, or find someone to.  It is funny when you keep running into the same things in different places.  You start thinking, didn't I see that somewhere?
