Help!! I'm going bald pulling my hair out with a LCD TopGun insallation

I need some help with the LCD TopGun 1 installation on a pc running XP pro SP2

I am a little frustrated and consfused becuase there directions are either correct or ass backwards compared to the byoac wiki directions.

on the EMSHK diretions they tell you to place the led strip with the power led on top and the red led facing on the left side with the cord running off the right side and the bottom with the 2 sets of leds with the cord going out the right side as pictured.

I did it ot the T and when I move the gun up/down it mouse the mouse emblem left/right and when I move it left/right the mouse eblem moved up/down.

I also had a hell of a time getting it to even move at all becuase the driver set is so goofy most the time it does not recongize the gun correctly or do anything.

I then found a page on the byoac wiki and it say's the exact opposite that the red led should be on the bottom right and the cord running off to the left and the led bar with the 2 set of leds should be on top with the wire running of the left.

also on the EMSHK directions it say's to connect the 2 power wires on the gun itself if you want the recoil shot and the gun plug into the usb and the led bar set plugs in USB.

But once again the byoac directions say to connect the led bars power cord to the lcd topguns power cord and then plug them both in while thre connected to eachother wich is the exact opposite of what the manufactures directions say.

so what is the correct way these led bars need to be mounted top and bottom of the display and what is the correct way to connect them to a pc?

another very weird thing is I kept fighting the drivers on the cab PC I am trying to get them to work on and the drivers seem like they dont want to work right but I did get some movement out of them with the goofy drivers.

so then I tried them on my regulat home pc and the drivers installed without a hitch the drivers showed EMS topgun usb driver or whatever under device manage wich the cab pc never showed but on the home PC even know the drivers seemed to install like they should I could get any response from the gun on screen at all,

I have two different directions that say to do two totatally things for the light bars and the guns.

I also have two pc's that are runing the same os and setup but get two different results from the driver installing and the way the gun acts.

I am totally clueless on what to do and damn near ready to scrap the project and find someting else and just sell these things.

a 10 minute install has turned in to around a 10 hour install for me so far and they still dont work.

could others tell me how there led stands are set from top to bottom and what driver version your using and also how you have the guns connected to whatever.

I figure I will give it a final shot and if no go screw it lol.

I finally had got one working and hopefully all set for the 2nd.

I ended up using a little of both directions for the install to work.

the byoac led bar setup for the horizonal mount works great and the correct oreintation.

but I connected the gun straight up to the usb port on it's own and I also plugged the led bars straight in on their own.

the byoac says to connect the leds bars directy to the gun and I am glad I did not have to use that method becuase it would have made usb port mess.

I mounted a usb panel jack for each gun so they just plug in on their own so it is easy to insall and uninstall and also safe if somebody trips on a cord.

the drivers fought tooth and nail and it was the problem and the only thing I can suggest is just keep trying different methods until you find one that works.

I seen in alot of place's that these guns are dead nuts but their main flaw is getting a driver to work and boy they were not kidding.

right now I have 1 working great on all the alg games so my next adventure is getting two going on some house of the dead's!!

I can't help with installing the second gun, but a friend of mine has an infrared comb (http://www.healthtek.co.za/Massage_Comb/infrared_head_massage_comb.htm) to cure his balding.

You can hold a gun in each hand and slowly move them over your bald spots.

2 out of 3 PC's could use drivers.
My e machine
w3052
3000+ sempron
512 meg memory
XP Sp2
could not.

set up as wikki says.
toss the LCD instructions in the trash.
any heat source will screw up the calibration set up.
I have read some people had problems because celling fans.
Mine was wood burning stove a beer fridge.
I moved set up into kitchen and calibrated.
moved back to arcade room and it works much better.
NOT 100% yet but getting closer.
Mame works fine.
PC big buck hunter not so well yet.

I got it working great on the one gun using the arcadecontrols wiki but now Iput the 2nd gun in and now it is ass backwards and only works if I put the led bars liked pictured on the HKEMS directions.

now I am totally clueless on what the heck is going on.

one gun works with the leds bars one way and not the other and the 2nd gun will work one way and not the other but totally opposite of of the first.

I wrote HKEMS and showed the guy how to do them the byoac wiki way but now I have a whole new thing to throw at them becuase they both should work one way or the other all in one setting  :laugh2:

I have been thinking of getting one of those for years.... let me know of you get it going ok and find it worth the cost.

Id love to play some shooting games on my big LCD and later in life a big 70" projector :P

Did you get it from PlayAsia.com by any chance, thats where I was looking, there or ebay.

Edit: for my laptop, HTPC, and Main PC they all use Vista 64bit... please say those things have Vista 64 drivers.

Only my netbook uses XP 32bit.

Did you calibrate the second gun?

for a screen that big you will have to be maybe 6 feet or more from screen.
the larger the screen the farther you have to stand back from screen

yeah it only moves backwards or nothing after all after calibration

I asked HKEMS if I were to open it is there a way I could swap the X and Y signal wires and force it to go in the directions I need by rewiring the gun guts to force it.

for those that have two guns going did you calibrate one gun at a time or did you have both of the guns connected at the same time and calibrate them both that way?

like I was saying prior one gun works great with the led bars one way and works backwards with the led bars the other way and the 2nd gun likes the led bars the other way that the other gun does not work with so I need to swap the led bars around again for it to work.
