Title: eastbayarb (problem resolved)
Post by: tomdotcom on February 07, 2009, 10:00:21 am
Anyone know a different email or anything for eastbayarb?

I bought a shuttle PC/jpac from him and ever since I paid he has not responded to my emails or PM's at all. I don't want to set off any alarms, but for the money I paid I'd really like a response from him or at least a tracking# or something. I feel like I'm being taken here....

Thanks in advance.

For legal reasons, no OS or software is included, but all you have to do is load up an OS and whatever software you want and you are set.

PRICE: $350 shipped via USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation. I am firm on the price and this is a package deal only, no exceptions.  This will be availible for a week only, then it goes to ebay. I have positive feedback on here, ebay, personal refferences with others I have sold to/traded with.

I believe this is his name:
Antonio Botello

I have no idea where we sit as he won't respond to repeated emails and PM's and I even sent an ebay PM with no response.

When and how did you pay?  Did he ever give any indication as to when it would ship?

Paid via paypal at least a few weeks I think it's been now. He told me he needed my phone# to ship the package the next day so I gave him my phone#. Then once I sent him my phone# I haven't heard from him since.

I'll have to check on paypal when I get home to see the exact dates.

I just want a response from him telling me when it was shipped or if it was shipped at all.

Well, I believe you have 30 days to cancel your Paypal payment, so you still have that option.

Well from what I could tell he seemed legit on here, I really want to give him sometime to respond, but it is taking way too long for an answer and I'm getting really nervous that I'm going to lose my money and get shafted.

Tom did he say anything about shipping to Canada?   I see his original ad said USA only.

Yes we spoke over email and he was well aware of where it was shipping to and I paid the appropriate shipping fees as well. I asked him right off the bat if he was willing to ship to Kamloops before we even got to talking about actually buying it.

I am not saying he got you or that he is indeed a scammer but thought it may help to post what others been through already.

Well I'm crossing my fingers that he gets back to me..this ---smurfing--- blows bigtime :( I don't have time for this crap. I have a machine that is ripped apart waiting for parts. I'm going to file a claim today, as he is obviously avoiding me or doesn't give a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.

Hey, Paypal's buyer protection is not "black & white". You start a Paypal "dispute", for non-delivery of goods. There's nothing wrong with lighting a fire under a seller's butt. It's then up to them to make fix the situation in order to prevent you from getting the payment reversed.

Don't wait a day longer to do this!

Alright ARB has responded to me via email and has stated that he was having some issues with work and it wil be shipped on monday. I in no way mean to slander or ruin anyones reputation but I do have to cover my own butt so I don't get ripped off, and when the seller doesn't respond in a timely manner then I have every right to be worried..

I think you handled it right, you are in a tough position and I hope everything works out.

Ok he has shipped it now as of today. I also offered to cover extra shipping charges as it cost more then he thought it would. As long as it arrives safe and sound and working. I didn't want it to come to to this but what the hell was I susposed to do? Watch my money dissappear when I couldn't get an answer? I'm one of the good guys...

You did the right thing, and from a seller standpoint I'd totally understand.

Years ago I ran a site that sold gaming accessories and other things, I cut off entrance to the store from the main site and "thought" I shut the store down to new orders while I was away for a few months and couldn't fill any orders.
When I came back, I had 6 unfilled orders.....WTF. Seems I hadn't shut down the cart system and people were finding their way to the store via Google. 3 of the orders were new enough that I just filled them, the other 3 had filed Paypal claims.
I filled their orders, and 2 dropped their claims, the other 1 person conveniently stopped responding to me after I told them I had shipped their order, got their money back and kept what I sent them.

If a seller can't understand you trying to cover your own ass legitimately, even though they've run into a problem where they couldn't contact you, it's a seller I'd never want to deal with again.

Did you get a tracking number? Is it valid?  If no to either, I'd still start the dispute before the time limit runs out for that.

I certainly wouldnt give him any more money until you have the computer.

Everything was sorted out fine with this transaction, he was busy so we had a bit of a delay in our communications, after we got that sorted out then the deal was good. Cheers
