I just declared my MAME cab completed! Only took 4 whole years!! (started Mar 2005)
I modeled the whole thing from plans for the Arcade Paradise 3 cabinet at www.arcadeparadise.org (http://www.arcadeparadise.org)
Some features:
- Entire cabinet and CP made out of 3/4" MDF
- Dell P4 2.4g w/ 1gig RAM using winXP
- Instant Sheller
- Maximus Arcade FE
- SmartStrip Powerstrip
- One button start up and shutdown
- 3" red glowing HAPP trackball
- MS Pac/Galaga Reunion 4-way joystick
- Two 8-way HAPP competition joysticks
- Working over/under coin door (uses quarters)
- Tinted tempered glass over monitor
- JVC 27" TV as monitor

Thanks!
I hope it doesn't take you that long either!
Besides moving in the middle of the build, having another kid, the big time consumer was that I researched, and researched, and researched. I knew this would probably be the only one I would ever build from scratch so I wanted to get it right. I'm very happy with the outcome.

NICE!! Love the side art! The whole thing screams arcade fun. So, do you find yourself staring at it thinking I can't believe I have an arcade game in the house?

Looks fantastic!!!
With the working coin door, it's now time to invite the neighborhood kids, buds, and everyone else you can think of to help start paying for that sucker!

I have been using quarters myself as a bank. My kids are to young but when they get older you can bet I'll be getting paid~~! All these people coming over now are gonna have free games until they're hooked and then I'll unplug the coin up button.

Thanks. It's actually a centipede/millipede/missile command reunion theme. The other side of the cab is Missile Command.

That's a fine-looking cabinet. AP3 now has a step-brother. ;)
I'm digging the artwork on the CP. Is that the artwork that's normally on the Centipede / Millipede / Missile Command reunion cabinet? Can we get some closer/better shots of it?

I made it from scratch in photoshop but it's just a modified version on the real CP layout. The one for the arcade is .has just the trackball and 3 buttons.
I'll try and dig up a better shot of the CP and a pic of the actual arcade cabinet.
