****I Can't Take Credit for the Idea**** 

Had this Hanaho HotRod in my fathers basement for the past 3 years since moving back home and became inspired recently from seeing this idea (except they built own panel)around the net.  I used to MAME back in the day and always wanted to build a cabinet.  Finally got a house (so the wife is happy) and now the projects can begin.  I built a respectable Home Theatre in the basement and decided not to make the cabinet but use the projector in the theatre.  Only issue I had with MAME and my controller was a 25' cable running to the PC all the time.  I own a Xbox 360 and had a spare controller for hacking.  Let the fun begin...!  Microsoft makes a wireless receiver for USB port of PC which allows up to 4 controllers....Yippee.  Only have Player 1 wired up so far but it works all to well.....on the xbox so far (haven't moved PC out of office yet)   Here's some pic's......

very cool...i've been thinking about doing this with my x-arcade once i get my new cabinet panel built...those live arcade games are just asking for  real arcade controls

Let me tell you it is perfect.  I was a little concerned with it being enclosed and not syncing up, but it can turn on my X- box in the basement from upstairs.  It will be mostly used for MAME but my daughter and I love it also for the Live Arcade stuff.......

If anyone has questions feel free to ask.  I can provide some links and info if needed.

Great stuff. The ultimate for me would be for one of the PC interface creators (Ultimarc, GGG) to come up with a wireless interface for making stand-alone control panels. It may also save some connection headaches for cabinet builders and create a few new cabinet designs without the need for wiring restrictions. Think rotating panels, easier modular panels etc.

I am assuming I could have just wired up a Logitech or other brand wireless keyboard to do the same thing.  The neat thing about this is it allows me to use it on my Computer with the Microsoft windows receiver or my Xbox.  It just sits nicely on display under the glass top of my coffee table, slide er out from under and press the power button and shes ready to go.   :woot
