Hey all,
I live in London and am keen to start a project for a mame conversion.
I would have a go at building my own cabinet but my flat is tiny and I haven't got the space to do it!
I reckon, if I got an old battered stand up cabinet, I could sort the electronics/controls/art etc out but large woodwork is out of the question.
Does anyone know of resources in the UK that would help me find an old faulty jamma cab - I don't want to destroy a working cabinet as they are rare enough already.
Help much appreciated!
Phil. :)

Not sure if this meets your criteria or not, but it is a generic cab instead of a dedicated one.

Thanks - looks like a great cab, think I saw it on Gumtree.
To be honest I don't want a working cab, would be such a shame to convert that beauty.
It's pretty much exactly what I'm looking but I think it's just in too good of a condition for a MAME conversion.
Cheers,
Phil.

So you'd prefer a water damaged hunk of junk? I don't see turning that generic cab as much of a conversion. You could keep the jamma functions and switch between the game and MAME.

Thanks for the interest and for replying to my post but to be honest I would prefer one in worse condition. Your SF2 is fine just the way it is - I wouldn't get round to converting it.
Thing is I'm looking for a project to complete, not a near perfect cab. It'd be almost be too easy.
My ideal would be a faulty cab.
Cheers

Dang. I thought you meant London, OH.

Use Ebay.
Get a generic Jamma cab.
Thats what I did.
You can change the colour scheme of the cab fairly easily with a lick of paint (or vinyl) and new T molding.

Firstly apologies - I meant London, UK not London, OH.
Thanks for the advice guys, looking forward to starting my first project.
The wood kits you can buy look good but I think I'm gonna start small and try to get a generic cab and convert. I would prefer a faulty one cos I think I'd just end up playing a working one and never convert it.
I'll keep my eyes peeled on ebay and the like.
If anyone ever comes accross one in the london area I'd more more than grateful for a tip off.
Cheers.

Do yourself a favour and get one with a 100% working monitor.
Other than that that there isnt much that can go wrong in a jamma cabinet all it is is wires/monitor/power supply.
that second one in the ebay link above are great cabinets, I set one up for a mate recently
