Thinking about a purchase, how hard are they to work on? Do a lot go wrong with them?
Thanks.
-
Just remember to order the volume control kit too.
I thought I wanted one for a while, but could never bring myself to get one. A local collector has 2 really nice ones with LCD's, and they just weren't that fun. Maybe he just didn't have his payouts set high enough I don't know.

Funny you say that, I heard they are really loud!

I have had one for over a year now. Can't say how hard they would be to work on I have yet to have a single problem with mine. They aren't overly complex and they are designed for casino use so home use isn't very taxing. My kids love it. I have this one. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/stealthhome_2034_7059097 I actually bought it from them off of ebay and was very happy with the process.
EDIT: I second the volume control option. I have one installed.

Very Cool!
How hard was it to install the volume control, did you do it yourself?

It was only a few bucks for them to do it at the time so I had it done. It would not be hard to do yourself.

I'll have to Google it.

Shouldn't be too hard. you are just wiring a pot in line with the speaker.
A local closeout store (that ironically recently 'closed out') used to get a shipment of these once in a while. They sold for like $150. If i were to get one though, I would go online and have my pick of themes. The fellow I mentioned had a Speed Racer theme one.
I get the feeling that most of these aren't licensed. No way they could afford the licenses they use - which is pretty much all of them!

This forum has everything you'd ever want to know about Pachislo type slot machines:
www.pachitalk.com
Several dealers advertise there too. Just remember that Pachislo machines are illegal in some states so check the laws in your particular state. I can say with 100% assurance that these machines are completely illegal in California, Oregon, and Washington states.

I'm in PA.
PENNSYLVANIA = 1940 OR OLDER AND PACHISLO ONLY

I got one at a Superauctions. Definately have to add a volume control! It's pretty fun, people like to play it when they come over. Heck, even I turn it on from time to time and throw a few tokens in there. :)
-
Yeah I don't see it as something I would play ever day but they seems cheap enough to be worth the bucks.
-
Mine's an "Island Song", bought it for $125 at auction. There was a Street Fighter themed one, but of course everyone wanted that one, so the bidding went above what I was willing to spend for a Pachislo.

$125 is CHEAP!

Is it? What are the prices you are seing?
Oh, make sure you get a lot of tokens (in the correct size, as well). My pachislo uses the large tokens:

Around what you bought yours for but most have a shipping cost around 70 or 80 which adds to the cost.
It really all depends on the theme as to how much they sell for.

Ive got a Taco Slot (with 4th reel) its awesome, wish Id fit the volume control on it sometime as its so loud it beggers belief. Nice funky disco lights and awesome stereo sound.
Its built very well and despite moving it around often it still looks brand new.
But I would get tons of tokens for your purchase, as when they go on their winning streaks they really go for it.
paid £60 for mine off ebay when heavily drunk one night, woke up thinking id dreamt I'd won a fruit machine only to discover it wasnt no dream..... it was miles away too.
God bless jack daniels and ebay ;D

Do I need more than 300 tokens?

Do I need more than 300 tokens?
If you don't want to be reloading it all the time then yes. I think I have about 1100 in mine.
-
What amount do you recommend?
-
I have around 1100 total as well (came with 100, bought an extra 1000 on ebay). This seems to be a pretty good number to have. I never run out, and the hopper inside has plenty for the jackpot payouts.
-
Ok... I will besure to buy extras!
Thanks Guys!
-
Look on Criagslist. I bought both of mine there. On both of them, the guys thought they were broken. They just didn't know how to reset on jackpot/payout. There's a procedure that involves turning the key on the inside and whatnot, super easy, you just need to know how to do it. If you don't, the alarm sound doesn't go off.
-
Put an auto stop on it and it plays just like a slot machine. No stop button pushing required if you do not want to. Also autoloads the credits if you want.
-
I have a street fighter pachislo machine.
Have yet to get around it but I think if I just twist a resistor into the lead to the speaker that will help.....dunno.
But yes its VERY loud even when on low, when on high its insane.
If I had the chance to do it all over again, I'd get the metal slug machine......then again the Indy one looks cool & then again I am a star wars fan too.
Whatev, regardless its cool to have.
