Title: Wiring Ultimarc Coin Mech and IPAC2
Post by: greyhound35 on January 29, 2009, 07:45:29 pm
Hi Guys,

Not wanting to hijack this thread http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=88887.0, i thought it'd be better to start a new one given my question is slightly different.

I have a Ultimarc Coin Mech and IPAC2 and want to wire them correctly.  I plan on powering the coin mech from the PSU using a HDD power supply.  I'm not the greatest with electronics so excuse th n00b question:

The wiring diagram for the coin mech is below

Q.  It says to connect the yellow wire from the power supply to the appropriate terminal, fine.  Do i then need to connect the ground from teh power supply, or just use the ground back to the IPAC.  If i do need to connect back to the power supply how is this doen.  (Not clear in the diagram)

Thanks again
Greyhound

I think I'm one of the few who uses this combination so maybe I can help.

You can connect it to either and ideally you should connect it to a black ground from a spare IDE connector (so the ground input is directly through the same system as the 12v power source), but you can connect to the ground chain of your i-pac without trouble. Whichever way you do it you will likely have to strip and crimp some wires together to make the ground, and be sure you have that zener diode the right way round too.
