Title: A.B.P. guts FS
Post by: Hedgehog on June 24, 2003, 11:03:54 am
I'm on the trailing end of my MAME project (never seems to end, does it?) and I'm wondering what to do with the original guts of the ABP cabinet I used.  I'm looking for interested parties as well as any info you guys might have about value.

Here's what is left over:
marquee - one corner broken off, but I've got the piece
bezel - great shape
WG monitor - some burn-in
console - working wheel and buttons.  Great shape.
all the PCB's and electronic guts - I don't even know enough electronics to identify all this stuff

When I cranked up the game I couldn't get it to complete the ROM test, so I'm guessing that the boards are questionable, but the monitor seems ok.

I'd hate to toss this stuff knowing that someone, somewhere "needs it for their dream game."

Any comments welcome.  Interested parties pm me please.

Being an APB, put the parts on eBay, they will sell.

I'd love them, but from your description, it needs board level repair, and I'm not up to that.

what type of WG moniter do you have? how bad is the burn in?

JakeJake28 - I'll check on the WG model/size tonight when I get home.  The burn-in is noticable when the monitor is off and the light is bright, but when it was on I couldn't really tell.  Certainly not the worst I've seen.

Peale - I'm curious why ABP parts would sell on ebay particularly well.  I definitely remember the game in arcades, but not as a particularly popular one.

fyi Rampy (and others) - I'm in Atlanta.

(Tornado spinner gets installed tonight! w00t!)

It's one of those game people just...I don't know..."liked."  I liked it.  A few of my friends liked it.  I read RGVAC and when one shows up, there are usually takers for it.

Gah!  No!!!  I need to start reading here more often.. I'm trying to fix up my APB.. you don't by chance have the seat assembly, do you?  Any way you can peel off the side art?

Sorry spiff, but mine didn't have the seat assembly.  And as for the side art - well it didn't fit into my plans.  No way it would have come off intact anyway.

pictures of the monitor and bezel coming soon.  Still need to borrow a friends digital camera.

Yeeeeah.. I'm pretty much getting used to that response.. have been through like 5 guys parting out APBs now without luck.. all had no seat and trashed art..

Doesn't anybody like this game except me?  Must be the cost of replacing those medium res monitors :/.. doesn't even seem like a very good choice for conversion, either..
