Hi all. I am looking for some inspiration to build myself a couple wall mount arcades and wanted to see if anyone had some pictures I could look at. Plans would be fantastic but I really don't expect any. I have a few pics I pulled off of Google of course, was just looking for any others I may find.
thanks.
-
We've got three of them....each one a little different from the others :)

Cool Luigi! I have seen those before. I didn't realize they were yours! Would you be kind enough to take some measurements of them for me? And maybe some more pics of them? I really love this style. Do you have any shots of the interiors?
Thanks for the link Blanka.

Sorry for the late reply.
What cab do you want pictures and measures from?? :)
-
Any, or all. I love each one! But only if it's not too much trouble.
-
Are those converted vending machines or something? They're clearly not scratch-built but I wasn't aware anything like this was ever factory-built?
-
Factory built as far as I know. Tho there is hardly any info on them.
-
Those wall mounted machines used to hang around in "snack restaurants" (?)
They are now disappeared from those places but some of them show up from time to time )
I'm sorry, no pics at the moment. I wanted to take some pics last saturday but my mate blocked them with two pins he is repairing and cleaning :(
As soon as they are "free" I will take some pics :)
-
I've never seen anything like them over here. Granted I'm from the sticks....
Glad you haven't forgotten. Just post them or send me a pm when you get them.
-
OK, I got some pics.....unfortunately the battery was empty after a few pics and I had no other with me :banghead:
But finally there are some pics. If you want pics from specific parts or larger versions (1600x1200) just let me know :)
I could not take better pictures of Amidar. I had to hang out the frontdoor and when I was finished the camery battery was empty ::)

Hey Thorsten, is that on original Nintendo 2 layer board-set in there ?
If so, it's weird to see the green (Crazy Kong) girders screen !
Is that cab a licensed cab ? The graphics do look very original but maybe it's a bootleg ?
-
Hi André :)
The PCB is a bootleg (colours don't match as you found out) but I think "Videogames" built them in license. I've seen more videogames with their logo.

Ah, interesting ! Is that a single PCB or double ? Andreas just bought this "Videogames" Looping, which has a boardset with descriptions in German (like Platineflaeche etc.) Very nice looking cab !

Look at the gamescreen: Licensed _from_ Videogames. I bet they meant Licensed by Videogames :) Nice Engrish :D
So is that Operation Manual for that specific cab or the "normal" one ? :D
Sorry for de-railing the thread.....when I'm home I'll dig up some more wall-machine pictures to compensate :)
-
Those machines are awesome. I'd love to have a few...hell, put one on a door even! ;D Waste NO space!
Why does your DK have green girders? Is that Crazy Kong in there? Strange considering the marquee, CP, and manual appear to all be authentic Nintendo stuff.

Don't worry about that, I like to hear all I can about these! Do you have some of these machines too? I'd love to see some pics of them. I've been kicking around an idea of basing a website on these seeings as there isn't much info out there on them....but time is such an issue right now. :-\
Luigi,
Do you still have the Ladybug? I would like more pics and some rough measurements too if you could. What do the backs look like? What size are the monitors? Are there vents and what not on them? How do the power cords hook into the back? ect .ect.
-
Regretfully I don't have one. I had the chance of buying one locally when I just started in this hobby but I passed it. Think it was a Phoenix or a similar shooter.
Here's some pics of a Puckman !
-
Nice! Got any pics of the interior or dimensions I may have?

Of course I still have it. I have to replace the stick with a 4-way...it can be played far better with a 4-way stick than with an 8-way. A also made a custom CPO I will attach to the panel when the stick is replaced.
The back is a plain board with 4 bolts that hang into some kind of brackets in the wall. The powercord comes out of the back through a hole....no plugs.
The monitors of these cabs have 14" or 15".
Yes, they all have vents. The one in the Lady Bug was stuck and always blew some fuses when powered on. Took me a while to find that b***ard´. I saw that it did not turn but I didn't think it blew the fuses :D
Here's a picture of the Lady Bug inside.....nothing spectacular :)
-
Hey Luigi! Sorry to drag up this old post again but I was wondering...Is there any way you could put a tape measure to one or 2 of those cabs? I am having a devil of a time figuring out what to use for a monitor. The 14" or 15" CRT's that I have found over the last several months are really deep and they just seem to be too big to me. Maybe the pics are throwing me off or maybe the monitors in your machines are special made or something :-\
Sure wish I could get my hands on one of them.....
-
whoa those are kinda cute, i dont think i've ever seen a wall mount arcade in real life before.
im also curious as to the "general" dimensions of them, those looks like a fun and simple project.. not a whole lot to them.
but i agree the pictures are deceptive they dont look like they're more then say 12 inchs deep but dont think i could fit a monitor in that space.. teh lady but is got the right idea i think of angling it.. but even so.
-
that lady bug is awesome!
-
hmm actually i bet once of these made slim and using a LCD monitor would be pretty awesome, not an authentic look but it would surely save on weight and size, not to mention where are you gonna get a 13inch monitor? it's hard to even find tv's that size.
-
Ya, LCD's would make these pretty simple. I just can't stomach the look of them. There have been one or 2 of them built on here.
-
On my ToDo-List :) Will let you know when I have some measures.
-
Bump and reminder to Luigi ;D
-
OMG :o
I'm sorry I didn't get back on this ::)
I will go to our hall in a few hours to pick up a monitor and I will get some measures then.
Really sorry!!
-
Thats OK. If you life is anything like mine you're going in a hundred different directions anyway!
-
OK, here is a picture with the measures. If you need any further information.... let me know :)
The measures in brackets (xx) are the ones inside.
-
Thank-you thank-you Luigi !! That helps a bundle! Now I have another project going :applaud:
And I need to find a source of small CRT's that fit that box. Not many around anymore...
I may bug you again with more questions but it will be awhile. ::)
