Title: Will newer versions of Mala require starting from scratch?
Post by: vetteguy112233 on January 27, 2009, 08:02:55 pm
When upgrading to newer versions of Mala in the future, do you have to go through and set EVERYTHING up again? All game directories, settings, checkboxes.....

If so, can you please consider an "upgrade" button or something that will keep current settings/directories, but still install the newer version and it's features/fixes?

If it's already possible to keep current settings, please explain how.

No Normally you don't do anything. Just swap the mala.exe over

However with the next version 'layouts' will be automatically upgraded (to handle definables for 'other emu's) which means they won't load on older versions again.

So as long as you aren't going from a new version to an older version, then you don't have to worry about anything. Just copy Mala.exe and all settings cary over?
