Hello from frozen Maine,
My pal was asking me if I could find plans for Tron and Baby Pac-Man, I said "I bet I can get that"
Was I right?
I'm not familiar with the Baby Pac-Man cabinet, I don't think I've ever seen one in person...
But I played Tron when I was a lad, it was fun :) I have this rough plan for Tron (attached) it's not a JakoBud quality affair though...
Thanks :)
Craig
edit : oops, a Google image search reveals that baby Pac is a pinball hybrid!
-
I don't think Baby Pac-man is exactly buildable since 1/2 of it was a pinball machine. I doubt plans exist and even if they did I doubt you would be able to find parts. I could be wrong though!
-
Oh snap, I think we were replying at the same time.
Yupper, I just saw that ...
Dig it :

I will try to steer him towards a regular Pac-Man cabinet instead :) I've built one of those.
How about that Tron cabinet plan ?
-
tron plans are out there.
I know for a fact a few people here have tron.
parts are going to cost.
Tron ranks close to star wars yoke.
-
The only Tron plans I've seen are the ones in the first post in this thread. If there are others please share.

Randy makes the handle now so that's good.

Well I am in talks with a fella who owns Baby Pac-Man and Tron cabinets, he should be able to send me "straight on" pics, so I should be able to make a "quick and dirty" plan of each one :)

Bummer! The guy who I thought would supply those pics flaked on me.
Do any of you have a Tron cabinet? If you can supply a "straight on" pic of the front and a "straight on" pic of one side I could make a plan from it :)
It would be even better if you had a tripod and could set the camera so it's lens it on center with the cabinet. But it's not required.
Really I'm surprised we don't have the plans for a Tron cabinet ... I thought it was very famous :)
Cheers,
Craig

Sweet, using the search button I was able to track down a fellow member who will hook me up with pics and measurements for Tron :)
"stan2323" - he is a hero!

Well I'm in Lewiston Maine, AKA "little Somalia"
I'm uptown but I'm planning on moving to the country within a few years :)
I plan on building a semi-self sustaining house in the likeness of an Earthship but maybe a framed straw bale adobe. I'd like to build a house that heats itself via passive solar and share the technology and blueprints. Maine residents could save over $1000 per year in a self heating house :)
And boy are we getting buried in snow or what?

But I digress, back on topic!
Yes a Tron in NY for $250? If I was nearby I'd be all over it.
I sent the link to the guy who asked me about a Tron cabinet in the first place. He was willing to have one built and sent to AZ via freight so I bet he'll be interested in it.
It's funny though, as soon as he found out I didn't have the Tron plans he flaked on me. I had previously told him I did have the plans but in fact those were "Tron cabaret" and "Robotron" - oops, minus one point for the old memory banks.
But I might build one anyway :) I haven't built a cab in 2 years! It's been too long!
So, we'll see if we can collaborate and make some nice Tron cabinet plans to share with everyone :) "stan2323" has PM'd me and will be e-mailing some pics too.
Nice :) Thanks!
Cheers,
Craig

I'm pretty close to this location, I just actually drove out to barcade in Brooklyn last weekend.. they had most of these games that are listed on this ad, I wonder if it's them.

Alright, Stan was kind enough to send me pics of his Tron cabinet during a hectic pack and move. Thanks Stan2323!
Though the pic is kinda tricky with the painter's tape and poor separation from the background. I'm hoping Bender will send me some pics to work with as well.

Maybe Bender and JakoBud could mail each other and come up with a proper blueprint for Tron. I bet JakoBud would agree it would be a great addition :)
Cheers,
Craig

I forgot to tell you there is no T-molding on it. That is why I used the painters tape to protect the edges. The edge of the painters tape is the edge of the cabinet.
Hope the pictures help.
FYI it took 5 guys working from 08:30 to 17:00 to load all of my stuff into a 53 foot semi trailer. It took up 3/4 of it. I will be in Hinesville, GA on Monday looking for a house near Ft Stewart.
Anyone in the area of Savannah?

I have been trying to upload some pic here for a couple of days but it seems like Saint is doing some work on the site and I can't upload pics
I'll keep trying

Hi Buddy!
That sounds super cool.
To upload an image onto any forum is very easy
1. Go to : PostImage.org - Image hosting service for forums
2. Click "choose"
3. This will open up a file browser, navigate to the image you want to upload, click it, then click "open"
4. Click "upload it" and wait for the file to upload.
5. Once it has uploaded there will be 3 lines, one is "Forum BBCode", cut and paste the forum BBcode right into your post, it should look like kinda like this :
[ur1=ht1p:/www.postimage.org/image.php?v=PqKsxfJ][1mg]ht1p://ht1p://ht1p://www.postimage.org/PqKsxfJ.jpg[/1mg][/ur1]
And will result in a clickable image :
(http://www.postimage.org/Pq1EPlir.jpg) (http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq1EPlir)
The cool thing about that service is the image will be displayed at the correct size for the person's screen, but they will also have the option to click it and view the image at 100% size, and download it.
Have fun!

Is JakoBud still drafting ?

wow that is cool
I lightened up the image so you can see anything you might need
the result is that the machine looks a lot worse than it does in real life, even though it does need some work
I'll get a side view later, do you need the back?
also let me know if there are any measurements you need
PS: those photos are great we've done the four seasons like that in a few places, so cool
we are also looking into a sustainable build off the grid when we build a house, glad to see other people in maine are doing that, love to know how it goes
