Title: Anyone used a XXXX-1 Jamma Board before??
Post by: Matsurigatzu on January 25, 2009, 02:49:42 pm
I have the XXXX-1 connected and it comes up on screen and its running fine but my controls are not coming on. I cannot even move my joysticks or buttons. Its like they are just off.

Any help??

You have a ground issue.  The only reason why all controls won't work (aside from a major issue on the PCB) is a ground issue.  I'd bet a $20.00 that's the problem.

Check the ground wire for your buttons.

I did plug the Motherboard back into the neo geo and the controls work fine. Unplugged it,put it into the Jamma, controls are off.

Still a ground issue you think?

I just finished helping a fella figure the same problem out..... his issue was a ground problem.
But you may also want to check any dipswitch settings on the multi board itself which tell the multi board what style cabinet/controls you have.
Like "Upright/1 Controls" or something like that. (match it to your setup)

Maybe post the info on the exact xxxx-1 jamma board that you have so someone can look at the manual for your multi board.

Check the manual for that board against your jamma harness
iirc that board has p1 b5/6 and p2 b5/6 which are usually grounds on a standard jamma board

Yes...NeoGeo isn't 100% JAMMA and neither is the xxxx-in-1 boards from my recollection.  Ground issue.

1069-1 board.

take a look at it.

You're going to want to remove that link as it's against the rules here.

A sheet should come with that board with the pinouts, just trace the wires on your harness and see whats wrong
