I have the XXXX-1 connected and it comes up on screen and its running fine but my controls are not coming on. I cannot even move my joysticks or buttons. Its like they are just off.
Any help??

You have a ground issue. The only reason why all controls won't work (aside from a major issue on the PCB) is a ground issue. I'd bet a $20.00 that's the problem.
Check the ground wire for your buttons.

I did plug the Motherboard back into the neo geo and the controls work fine. Unplugged it,put it into the Jamma, controls are off.
Still a ground issue you think?
-
I just finished helping a fella figure the same problem out..... his issue was a ground problem.
But you may also want to check any dipswitch settings on the multi board itself which tell the multi board what style cabinet/controls you have.
Like "Upright/1 Controls" or something like that. (match it to your setup)

where do i find the switches on the jamma board?
-
I see 4 switches. When i switch one of them on,do i have to restart the jamma board?
-
Sometimes......
-
so i tried restarting.
I dont know which switch does what.
I dont even know how to test for grounding if it so calls for it. Lame. :-)

Maybe post the info on the exact xxxx-1 jamma board that you have so someone can look at the manual for your multi board.
-
1069-1 board.
take a look at it.
-
Check the manual for that board against your jamma harness
iirc that board has p1 b5/6 and p2 b5/6 which are usually grounds on a standard jamma board

Yes...NeoGeo isn't 100% JAMMA and neither is the xxxx-in-1 boards from my recollection. Ground issue.

1069-1 board.
http://xxx
take a look at it.
You're going to want to remove that link as it's against the rules here.

the only reason why i posted is because that guy wanted to know what i was looking at. my bad

A sheet should come with that board with the pinouts, just trace the wires on your harness and see whats wrong
