My food fight analog settings are all whacky can someone post theirs thanks
-
I was just playing food fight yesterday (can't get past level 11 - and I hate that broccoli) - I think I'm using mame's default settings with a u360 and it works fine.
-
I don't recall the problem I had, but I'm using U360s with .127 and the default settings are unplayable ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.

I'm using .119, but that shouldn't make any difference. I'll check my settings and post them back here.

I have a problem too where my guy wants to move right whenever I'm not doing anything. In all fairness, I haven't tweaked the stick (too lazy) but I was going to try expanding the dead-zone.

Oh yeah, that's what mine was doing. He always wanted to go right.

I looked into this, wondering if it was a U360 issue, and what I found was: if using newer Mame, I had to make sure the analog map was loaded. If not, it would automatically scroll to the right at the level choice screen, and in-game run right and NOT run left. Older mame exhibits all this behavior regardless of map used. Weird. Kind of a lame game anyway, though.

As a FYI - the 'moves right' issue is logged at MAME Testers already:

I just need someone to post their analog settings because i hit my "enter" button and some numbers accidentally changed

Thanks. I guess we should check before we gripe ;D

Here's my analog settings for Food Fight:
Digital Speed: 10
AutoCenter Speed: 10
Reverse: on
Sensitivity: 100%

I just played Food Fight without any major control issues. The main character would face right still, but he never tried to move that way. I simply hit F2 and configured the joystick. My problem went away after that.

Yeah, I confirm this for older Mame. It seems newer mame sort of auto-reconfigured after having an actual analog input.

I should've specified the MAME version.
.127

ok using MAME 129, I have food fight somewhat working now based off of stock settings in a new version of MAME, but what i don't understand is that toward the end when i get a high score i'm only able to properly pick the letters with the track ball.. if i try to use the joystick it works but i can't really select what letters I want, if that makes any sense. It's got something to do with the analog settings. Maybe my U360 isnt launching the correct map for this game ???

I'm assuming it's jumping too far? What settings do you have for mame's deadzone? Did you remap mame's inputs so it treats the joystick as only analog (and not digital inc/dec)?

I haven't had any trouble. You just have to hold the stick to the outside of the perimeter and then carefully move it around the 'circle' till you get to your letter, then press the fire button. It's rather confusing, initially, because the boy is auto-firing food the whole time.
