Title: a little help on my arcade monitor
Post by: mcdeez on January 23, 2009, 10:09:37 am
My 25" arcade monitor is turning a purple/red(only color i know is missing for sure is yellow) after about 5 min. the cabinet its in prevents me from knowing the model unless i take the monitor out. does this sound like a cap kit or do i need to try to find another monitor.

How does that prevent you from being able to see the chassis?

I guess I'd have to see a picture of the cab.  We'll need to know what kind of monitor is in there.

The cab only has openings in the front everything else is solid so i would have to take the monitor out the front of the case to be able to see the whats behind it.  Its kinda difficult to get it out by myself so i have to wait till this weekend to get a little help.

I gotta see pics of this cab.  Most every cab I've seen has some kind of access to the monitor, so at the very least you can make adjustments.

Could be one of them Die Hard type cabinets.

And a pic of the problem would be good if you can..... the description could be a couple different things.

ur green is dropping out .
could be a weak crt . faulty drive xistor. loose connection(s).  all the above or different.
visual inspection on the foil side of the neck pcb is warranted.

It is difficult to see the back side of a Tekken 3 since the cabinet does not open from the back. That is the WG25K7000 that I blew the cap in last week.  It had fluctuating colors, but now is fine.
